-Confused Demo

-Control Mode
At the title screen, press Up, C, Down, C, Left, C, Right. While playing, you can pause the game and use A to restart, B for slow motion, and C for frame advance.
Debug Mode
-Enable Control Mode.
After pressing Start to begin a game, hold A until you see Sonic. If you see a bunch of hex numbers on the top of the screen, you're in Debug Mode. To start debugging, press B, then you can select any sprite in that level and put it on the screen. To select a different sprite, press A, and to place it on the screen, press C. Note that sprite selection is different from Zone to Zone. Also, instead of displaying the time elapsed, it displays the number of sprites currently on the screen. Control Mode functions work as well.
Note: This only works on the first production releases of Sonic.
-Extra Lives
In Green Hill Zone - Act 3, there is a 1-Up at the very bottom of the level. Collect it along with enough rings to make 100 for a second life. Next, grab the 1-Up at the top of the loop-de-loop and die. Repeat until you have enough lives.
Get all Emeralds This cheat allows you to start at the First Level with all the Emeralds, and with lots of Continues. Use the Level Select cheat (see above) to get to the Special Zone. When you get the Emerald, and have entered into the First Zone, press Reset.
-Use the Level Select
cheat to get to the Special Zone again. When you get the next Emerald, and have entered the First Zone, press Reset again. When you have all the Emeralds, continue on with the first level. You get to keep the Emeralds and the Continues accumulated so far.
-Level Select
At the title screen, hold A then press Up, Down, Left, Right. When you hear the chime, press Start. If that doesn't work, try this: at the title screen, press Up, Down, Left, Right, hold A, and press Start. After doing this once, you only need to hold Start + A to enter the level select.
-Marble Zone Shortcut
In Marble Zone act 3 you will find three chandeliers with spikes in them. Go to the far wall (on the right) and jump to the right to find some goodies. Now jump through the wall on the right again, but be careful of the other chandelier. Ken and Renee Clay (kclay@bellsouth.net)
-Scrap Brain Teleport
On the last level (Scrap Brain), find the ledges that move right then left. Go to the left side of the wall and wait for the platform to move. As soon as it starts to move left, duck. You'll go through the wall. While here, press Left to teleport right and Right to teleport to the left.

-Extra Life (Any Level)
At the end of any level, if you have less than 50 rings and therefore cannot get to the bonus level, run through the turnstile and then stop and jump straight into the air. If the turnstile is off the screen when is stops spinning, when you come down it should show a picture of Sonic and therefore give you an extra life. Michael Cook
-Extra Life (Level 1)
To get an extra life at the beginning of the game, walk (don't run) down the first ramp. And after you have walked over the edge of the ramp find the second tree. Go to it and jump. An extra life power-up will fall! warrioraneesh
Level Select When you see tails running press Start+Button 1 and 2. Also rotate the directional pad. When you hear the coin sound press start.

-Debug Mode
To enter Debug Mode, play these sounds from the level select screen: 1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4. Press Start and hold A.

-Easy Chaos Emeralds
Start the game as you normally would. Get a Chaos Emerald, reset the game, and start the game from the options menu. You will keep the emeralds you have gained so far each time you start from the options menu.
-Emerald Hill Music To hear the Emerald Hill melody (at the title screen), go to sound test selection in the Options menu and listen to songs 1, 1, 2 and 4. Then highlight Player Select and press start. You will hear Oil Ocean at the beginning of the first level. Reset the game, and you will hear Emerald Hill! sonic maniac
Emerald Hill Shortcut To breeze through Emerald Hill 1 and 2, connect Sonic & Knuckles with Sonic 2 and play as Knuckles. Climb as high as you can and glide to the right. You'll reach the end of the level in seconds!
-Extra Lives in the Chemical Plant If you have Sonic & Knuckles, hook it onto Sonic 2. Play until Chemical Plant Act 1. When you get to the wall with the Spiny badnik and the warp tube on the floor. Break open the tube and go through it. When you come out you will see a Ring Box next to a tower. Climb up the tower and on the top you will find one 1-up. Glide left and you will find another 1-up. Glide to the left one more time and you will find yet one more 1-up. Since you won't want to go through the level again just glide to the right until you get to the tower you started from. Get on that first tower and glide to the right. The Act will be over and you will have 3 lives more that how much you started the act with. Reptile Raptor (mturza@ix.netcom.com)
-Green Sonic Glitch To get green sonic you must enter the level select and debug code. Then you must choose one of the emerald hill zone levels because the code only works in emerald hill zone (1 or 2.) When you start the level press B, you will be a ring,then press a four times,you will be four rings in a row going up or down,you then hold c and right for about 5 seconds,then you go back to the begining, keep pressing a until your the top of a waterfall. -Level Select From the main screen, select Options. Select Sound Select and play sounds 19, 65, 9, 17, then push C. Press Start to return to the main screen, and when Sonic and Tails appear, hold A and press Start.
-More Continues First enable the level select. Then, at the options screen, play these sounds in this order: 1, 1, 2, 4. Now move the highlight to the "Player Select" field of the options screen and press Start.
-No Boss Music Glitch Enter the level select code and go to a boss. Next push start then push and hold B. You should be playing in slow motion. When the boss enters the screen get a hit on the boss then let go of B and the screen should be paused. Then press start and there should be no boss music. Ehtan Shuler
-Oil Ocean Music Here's a way to play the Oil Ocean music through the whole game. Go to the OPTIONS screen and enter sounds 1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4. You should hear the Oil Ocean music. -Play at Night To play at night, enter the Debug code, then hold C and press Start to begin a level. Shielded Tails To give tails a sheild, enter debug mode and hit a shield. Then place a teleport box down and hit that. Now tails has a permenant sheild. The Code Wizard (the_code_wizard@hotmail.com)
-Slow Motion First enable Level Select. While playing, you can pause the game and use A to restart, B for slow motion, and C for frame advance.
-Super Sonic To become Super Sonic without getting all the Chaos Emeralds, first enable the level select. At the level select menu, go to the sound test item, and play sounds in this order: 4, 1, 2, 6. You should hear the music you get when you win a chaos emerald. Now select any level, get 50 rings, and jump.
-Super Tails While in Debug Mode, create and position a "Transfer Box" monitor. When you hit it and you are Super Sonic, you lose all your powers but stay yellow. Tails looks the same but has invincibility (little stars flashing around him.) To regain Super Sonic, let yourself get hit, then turn into a ring (press B) and place at least 50 rings on Tails. Exit debug mode (press B) and jump to become Super Sonic with Super Tails as a follower.
-Tails/Miles Mode At the title screen press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Up or Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up. A chime will sound and Tails will be called Miles or vice versa.Two Tails Enter the level select and debug codes, then go to the Sky Chase level. Using debug mode, create a transfer box and break it open. When you hear Sonic die press B to enter debug mode again. Move the cursor up until you see Tails and exit debug mode. To finish, jump and you'll have two Tails.
-Wing Fortress Shortcut In Wing Fortress, go as far as you can to the right without climbing. Make sure you have some rings. When you see blades blocking your way, go ahead and hit them. As soon as you are invincible, walk through them. Jump on the platforms to the right and half the level will be finished.

-Chaos Emeralds: Zones 1-5 Underground zone
On act 2 run right until you come to the trampoline that has a cart that will take you to the goal. Bounce on it and press left. Go up there should be a super ring there. Roll off the edge untill you hit a cart that. Jump off at the edge and run right.
-Sky high
This one's tricky. On the first kite fly up til the end.(you might miss but you can go back and try again)
-Aqua lake
At the end go into the tubes while pessing the button between the left and down direction. You'll go into a room with spikes at the top and an emerald.
-Green hills
On the 2nd slope run down and bounce on a set of trampolines. Hold right until you hit another set. Then hold right for about 2 seconds.
-Gimmick mountain
Go to the part where the badnick is at. Kill it and jump through the wall. jump the spikes and get the life. bounce on the tramp and fly up on the wheel. Get the other life and the wheel. Run right until you find the emerald.
-Continues For every 2nd act on Sonic 2,
there are secret crystals that will get you 3 extra lives. You usually have to find them between gnooks and crannies. When you die and get a GAME OVER, it will ask you if you would like to continue. -Extra Life
In act 1 of underground zone, jump over the hole, roll down the hill, and on the spring that comes next, jump on it and press LEFT. You will be walking on the bricks and then you will fall in a little space and there in a life there. David Wilkes (david@pl.jaring)

-Level Select To unlock level select, push the d-pad LEFT at the opening intro (the one that says "Sega") then simultaneously press button-1 and button-2 when Tails winks his eye the third time. Now push Start. Alex Lopez
-Skip Through Water On Aqua Zone act one
to skip through the water run and do yhe spin move (run and push down), and then you'll skip through the water. This also works on act two. Simeon Sometimes They Come Back ... On Scrambled Egg Zone act 2, follow the route as nomal, and in the second pipe section, go right, then left as normal, then up to enter the bonus section. Get over to the area with about 100 rings by spindashing. You will skim over the ground, collecting an extra life. Collect the rings and go back. The extra life will have reappeared! -Unlimited Lives
There are two 1-ups in Act 1 of the Sky Hill Zone. To get to the first one, pass the bridge, jump over the two sets of spikes, ignore the Ring Monitor and the spring. Finally, jump over one more set of spikes to grab the 1-up. Go back and jump on the spring, then walk into the horizontal spring, which will roll you through the bricks. You'll reach two more springs. Jump on the vertical spring, and you see another spring. Jump on this one, and hold left on the directional pad until you see a patch of ground with Christmas trees in the background. You'll then see another 1-up. Take it, let yourself die, and then repeat this process until you max out on lives.

-Beat the Clock First,
finish the game successfully. Now play Time Attack and beat the following times for some special options.

If you beat this time you can play the bonus stages in Time Attack. To access these stages, press Left in the Time Attack screen.
30'
Beating this time adds a new item to the main menu. To the left of RAM Data there will be an entry titled D.A. Garden. It's a picture of the little planet. With the controller you can rotate the planet (with B), zoom in and out (with C), and listen to all the music in the game (with A). It allows you to listen to the regular music, a good mix, and a bad mix, for each level.

Finally,if you can beat this time another menu item appears. To the left of D.A. Garden you'll find Visual Mode. This option allows you to watch the introduction, the endings, and a pencil test of Sonic running around. It also has a cool picture of Sonic in the background.
Tip: To beat these times easily, enable Debug Mode as described under Cheat Codes and Sound Test. This will disable the clock so you'll always finish in 0 seconds!

If you let Sonic sit for three minutes without doing anything, he'll grow bored, say "I'm outa here!" and race off the screen, thus ending the game. Kulock

Note: this code only lets you play one level. You will be sent back to the title screen upon completion or if you time warp.
-Play Your Own Music
in a Level When you start a level you can change the music by putting your own CD in. To do this sonic must be in the present not the past or the future. Once you put your CD in you have to hit start then the A,B, or C button. This will kill sonic but it is the only way to get the system to play your CD. Once you did this you will hear a song from your CD playing in the background. You must put the Sonic CD game back in whenever you: travel to the past or future, enter a bonus stage, or pass the level or else the system will lock up. -Quick Death
For the masochistic hedgehog in you, here's a way to kill yourself quickly. While playing, pause the game and press A, B, or C. This can be useful if you find yourself trapped.
-The Invisible Hedgehog
To become invisible, get behind one of the onscreen objects and press the B button. Twister Weather Control To change the clouds on the title screen, hold A while pressing Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Up.

Yes, there actually is an end to Practice Mode. Practice Mode will freeze at level 60. Go into exercise mode, wait until you get a Blue/Green bean, and try not to cover it. When you see a Has Bean come into the dungeon, put it on top of the Blue/Green bean. This will usually give you more points.

Change Identities Use the debug mode cheat. Start any level that has a special stage ring. Next turn into your favorite object. As an object go to the center of a ring. Now hit B twice quickly. When you get out of the special stage you will look like that object for the rest of the level. Different Battle Music Just before Before you fight Robotnik in the Hydrocity Zone, act 2, the boss music will come. Keep Sonic's head under the shallow water until he is about to drown, then pop out of the water. You will hear the boss music from Sonic and Knuckles. Tony (rzor1@aol.com)
Easy Emeralds To gain all the chaos emeralds, enter the Level Select code, then highlight "Special Stage" and press C + Start. After receiving the emerald, press A + Start and repeat the process until you have them all.
Alternatively, enter the Sound Test code and play sounds 2, 4, 5, 6 in order. If you did it correctly, the Emerald sound will play.

Extra Lives To do this trick you must get to the first level of the Launch Base Zone. Set off the first alarm, stop Sonic in the middle of it, and do a Spin-Dash attack. The flybots will continue to attack, and eventually their value will increase to 10,000 points! Every five flybots will gain you a life and, if you're patient enough, you can earn up to 99 lives!
Extra Rings in Debug Mode Enter Debug Mode then select a stage. Next press B, A (you must have Sonic and Tails on-screen.) When your cursor changes into a ring, paste it on Tails. Repeat this process and you can gain up to 900 rings and several 1-ups. swalter@silo.com
Level Select This code requires a Sonic 2 cartridge. Insert Sonic 2 and enter the Sonic 2 Level Select (play sounds 19, 65, 09, and 17). Return to the title screen, hold A and press Start. To transfer this to Sonic 3, hold A and carefully remove the cartridge without turning off the Genesis. Insert Sonic 3 and press Reset. Finally, release A and press Down twice at the main menu.
Note: You might notice a few levels you haven't seen before, but you can't select them. Those levels were originally intended for the game, but were pulled in order to release the game on time.
Mecha Sonic and Tails Use the Debug Mode code in Launch Base act 2. Beat the game. When Sonic or Tails jumps towards you, activate Debug Mode and get out of it immediately. Random Starting Location Enter the sound test menu choose a level. Look for a star post, touch it and hold A and press START. Then choose another level. Super Sonic To become Super Sonic without getting all the Chaos Emeralds, first enable the level select and debug mode. When the game begins, create a power-up box. There should be an 'S' on the box. Jump on it to grab 50 rings and become Super Sonic!
Super Tails Enable Level Select, then press Down to make sure you have the sound test (don't select it yet). Start a one-player game and choose Tails in the Data Select screen. When the timer appears, press RESET.
Enter the Sound Test menu and choose any zone. Hold A and press Start. You should be Tails and be in debug mode. From here press B, then press A until you see a box. Press C to select it, then press B to return to Tails.
To enable Super Tails, jump on the box. Tails will look weird and can not be hurt or lose any rings. He can still get squashed and drowned, though, so be careful in the Ice Cap zone. You will have do this at the beginning of each zone. Robotnik can hurt him at the very end of Launch Base zone-act 2.

View Animations Enter Debug Mode and press B + C. You'll be treated to a view of Sonic and Tail's moves.
-Sonic and Knuckles-Genisis-
Bonus Rounds To play the bonus rounds at any time, insert any game into your Sonic & Knuckles cartridge. When the "No Way" message appears, hold A + B + C and press Start. If you do this with the original Sonic game you can play the levels in order and will be given a password to save your progress.
Note: In case you're wondering, I've left out the passwords deliberately. There are over 32,000 bonus rounds in Sonic & Knuckles. I can't possibly list them all on the page, nor is there much point to doing so since the levels are nearly identical. Thank you.
Debug Mode when Linked to Sonic 2 Go to the level select screen and play tunes 1,9,9,4,1,0,1,8 (the date when the game was made.) Choose any level, then hold A and press Start to activate Debug mode. To use it, see the instructions in Sonic the Hedgehog. saxman@shentel.net
Debug Mode when Linked to Sonic 3 First go to Angel Island Zone and, while on a vine, press Left, Left, Left, Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, Up. If it has been entered correctly, you will here a chime. At the Sound Test Screen select a zone while holding A. Hold until the name dissapears. You can check if you're in Debug Mode by pressing B. Your score should turn into hexadecimal characters. Extra Lives Here's a trick to gain as many lives as you want.
Collect 50 rings, then enter the special stage and get an emerald. Let yourself die, then collect another 50 rings and re-enter the special stage.
Give your rings to the same person you used when you went to the special stage the first time. You will go to the same stage where you found the emerald, but if you complete it this time, you'll get an extra life.
Collect 100 rings to get a second extra life. Die and repeat the cycle as often as desired.

Locations Of Big Rings These are locations of big rings that are in the second act of every zone that have chaos emeralds in them.
Green Hill Zone:Act 2
First go right untill you come to a tube. Go in the tube and then go left. Then drop down the hole you come to. Go right and you will have a choice of going up or down. Go to the top ledge and procede right and you will find the big ring.
Yellow Desert Zone:Act 2
Go right and stay on top until you come to a big hole. Drop down it and procede right. Beware of spikes. You will come to another hole. Drop down it and go left. You will come to transporting tunnles. Go to the one on the bottom. Then go to the very next one to the left. Then jump in the corner one to the right and you will be taken to the big ring.
Red Volcano Zone:Act 2
Go right and stay on the bottom. Drop down the hole you come to. Go left until you get to the bottom of the hill. Jump to the left and go up another hill. Spin and double jump to the right and you will find the big ring.
Blue Marine Zone:Act 2
Go right and fall through the floor and procede right. Then go left until you get to the far left. Drop down the hole and go right. Fall through the floor again and go right. Fall through the floor one more time. Go right and get in the tube. Go right and get to the top and go right again. Fall down the hole you come to. Hold right so you will go through the wall. Go to the top right and hit the blue button on the wall. Go back through the wall and go left. Jump to the top. Jump on the small platform and you have found the big ring.
Silver Castle Zone:Act 2
Go right until you come to a hole. Go in the hole and procede right. When you come to the next hole jump across it. Jump on the next platform and jump on the teleporter. You will be taken to another room. Jump across the spikes and get on the next teleporter. Go left and jump across some more spikes and procede left to get the big ring.

Open the MDG2 folder on the CD, and load one of the files, telling the program it is a raw data file. For the width, enter 640. For the height, enter 448. If there is a colors dialog box, set it to single channel (grayscale). After the picture has loaded, use the Negative Image tool. You should now have a b/w image from the Sonic Museum on your PC screen! (Note: For some reason, the picture is offset to the left - nothing is wrong with your computer!) Ring Station After the accelerator in Reactive Factory continue to go straight forward. When you come to split in the road take the left road. If you continue up this road you will end up passing by a sign on the side of the road that says RING. Stop at that sign, and if you wait rings will come to you, giving you up to 999 rings. Aztec Forest Shortcut To get to the Frog and the Emerald as Tails in one step do as fallows. After riding the trolly to the Aztec Forest you should be standing up high on a platform overlooking the forest. If you stand on the edge and look down and to the left you will see two trees sticking out of the canopy that are close together. Fly toward the trees and land next to the one that is closest to the ledge you jumped from. You should be standing on top of the canopy. Black Chao First you have to be the robot. To get a black chao go into the egg catcher and go to the bridge. On the bridge you see three doors. Go in the one with the prison. Open the middle cell by jumping on the peg and take the egg back to the bridge. On the bridge go behind the chair Robotnik sits on, behind it is a door with 6 buttons in front of it, stomp on them in an order that spells E-G-G-M-A-N and the door will open. While still holding the egg, step into the teleporter in the room, then you'll be in the egg catcher chao garden, now just hatch the egg. Breaknec

Drive with Anyone in Twinkle Circuit. After completing the game with all six characters, you will be able to race in Twinkle Circuit with anyone. Just select the character you want, then go to station square. Once your there, go over to the little patch of grass and weeds by speed highway entrance, and pick up the ticket. (It will be rotating, and easy to spot.) Then go into the Twinkle Park building, and instead of entering Twinkle Park, enter Twinkle Circuit. You will hear a special noise that tells you that the secret is unlocked. Now just repeat the process for all the characters.

Easy Emblems as Knuckles If you are having trouble getting the 1 minute emlems as Knuckles, here is a trick that will make it much easier. Find the first emerald shard, but don't touch it! Instead, pause the game and restart the level. Now run to it as fast as you can. Since the shards act as save-points, find the next one and repeat. Do this until you have all three. Segaholic2
Free Rings As Tails, go to any place with grass and look for a dark green weed. Wack it with your tail. If you are lucky, a ring or extra life will appear. While playing with Knuckles and have the Silver knuckle gloves, goto a place where you can dig and in most places (especially places with plants) you can uncover up to 20 rings. Tomoaki Hirai
Golden Chao Baby There are two open shops in the part of Station Square with the open manhole. The golden chao's egg is in one of them. Unfortunately every time you lift the egg from its pressure sensitive platform, the doors are barred shut. Go to the city hall area where you fought Chaos 0 and look near the walls and grass. An egg-shaped rock is here, and you can put it on the platform in the store. You may now leave freely with the golden chao egg. Vector
Little Sonic Chao If you give a chao about 20 of the pink animals (rabbits, kangaroos, deer) it will start to look like everyone's favorite hedge hog. Kevin Reopelle
Metallic Chao Baby To get the one-of-a-kind metallic chao baby, go to the waterfall near the subway and look to the right of it. You will see a sort of platform. Go to it and push it. A metallic egg will fall down the waterfall and into the pond. When it reaches the land pick t up and bring it to the nearest Chao sanctuary. Throw it and it will hatch. AlexG
One-and-a-Half Play When you are playing Sonic's action stages and Tails is on the screen, a second player can control Tails with a second controller. Any rings Tails collects will be added to Sonic's totals. Be careful to not make Tails break open any shields, invincibilities or One Up item boxes as those will not be added to Sonic and will be wasted.
This feature may seem trivial to most people, but you'd be surprised how much fun it can be trying to outrun player one (who's playing Sonic) when you're controlling Tails. ;)

PC Wallpaper If you insert your Sonic Adventure game disc into a PC CDROM drive, you will have access to a directory called "extras". Inside you'll find a number of Sonic Adventure desktop wallpapers you can decorate your PC's desktop with. Chris Kohler
Secret Chao Puzzle Game After you start up the Sonic Adventure game, place a controller into the D port on your Dreamcast and have a VMS in the controller. A hidden Chao Puzzle game will appear on the VMS screen. It is a tile based puzzle game where you have to use the Dreamcast's controller to move the pieces of a moving picture around to win. After every five puzzles you solve, a little animation will play on the VMS screen. Chris Koeler
Sonic Tokens You can get 5 Sonic Tokens from Chao Race. Just raise a chao then go to the Chao Race chose the first choice and then the place where your chao is. Then chose a crystal and win each one then a 5th one will appear and chose it. If you have trouble finding levels you have beat and want the tokens go to the main options at the chose the second option. You can go to any level you have beaten with out running around for it. This is good if you need to collect more tokens and it tells you which ones you have gotten and where. There are Tokens hidden around the world which shouldn't be to hard to find. Sonic's Special Super Speed Shoes In the Station Square, head towards where you first faught Chaos (0.) Instead of going in the park, go to the hole in the ground. Fall in, then follow the path. You will find a rainbow colored area, step in.To get out, speed until Sonic says "Ready?" and keep holding down the speed button. press the button with the star on it and let go of the speed button. light speed shoes- go to station square after defeating egg hornet and go to the area previously blocked off by police go down manhole and jump up to the ledge that says "exit" to get the light speed shoes
crystal ring- after getting the light speed shoes go into the hotel and up the stairs and do the spin till he sais "ready?" and then walk on the button that opens the door to the elevator and the one that does the rings (this one may take some practice)
sacred light- after you beat "ice cap" continue down the cave till you come to the end and go down the hill till you get to the end it is on the flat rock
TAILS:
jet anklets- at the twinkle park entrance there is a stream coming in from the ocean follow it into the sewer fly up the hole in the celing enter the room to the left and they will be on the bench
rhythm badge- when you get to the echidna city go to the wall to the left of where you start and search up and down the wall
KNUCKLES:
shovel gloves- go to the hill where you fought the egg hornet go up the stairs to tailses house walk around it untill you see the emblemon the ledge under the ledge there is a cave go in it and to the left there will be a branch the wall will close behind you get the gloves dig by the shiny flying thing and bring the object to the monkey and put it down to get back out
battle gloves- in the aztec forest (present) fly from off the ledge to the right and climb the wall till you get to the other ledge by big's house and on that ledge the gloves await

warriors feather- beat eggmans high score in "hedgehog hammer"
long hammer- beat your high score in "hedghog hammer"

Tip: Planting Seeds in the Chao Garden If you play through the Chao Adventure 2, the VMU game, you will find seeds at the end of some of the quests. These seeds can be taken to the Chao garden and produce rare fruits. In order to plant these seeds, you need to first win the shovel and watering can in the beginner Chao races. As soon as you have won these, take the seed out of the VMU and give it to one of your Chao. The Chao will take it, plant it, do a little dance and a little weed you appear. Eventually, it will grow into a tree that you can use to help improve your Chao stats. Unlock Dark Garden To unlock the Chao Dark Garden, you must raise a Dark Chao with one of the three Dark characters. Continually feed and train your Dark Chao and it should evolve (creates a tear-shaped "cocoon"). Once it evolves, descending stairs should appear at the main Chao lobby leading to the Dark Garden.
